මියන්මාර මෘතවීරයන් සැමරීම 

අද ජූලි 19 වැනි දා මියන්මාරයේ මෘතවීරයන්ගේ (martyr) දිනයයි. සෑම වසරක ම ජූලි 19වැනි දා ඔවුන් ඒ දිනය සමරනවා. අද උදෑසන යැන්ගොන් ප්‍රධාන සොහොන් ගැබෙහි මෘතවීරයන් වෙනුවෙන් ගෞරව දැක්වීමක් සිදු වුණා. එයට මියන්මාර ජනාධිපති වින් මින්ට් මහතා ඇතුළු අමාත්‍යවරුන් ද රාජ්‍ය උපදේශිකා අවුන් සාං සුචී මැතිණිය ද සහභාගි වුණා. සුචී මැතිණියගේ පියා වූ ජෙනරල් අවුන් සාං ප්‍රධාන මෘතවිරයා.

ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්‍ෂ තමා රුවන්වැලි සෑ මළුවේ දී කරන ලද අනර්ඝතම කතාවෙන් පසු තවත් විශිෂ්ට කතාවක් නිදහස් දිනයේ දී කළා. ඒ කතාවේ සෑම කරුණක් ගැන ම සඳහන් කිරීමට මෙවැනි ලිපියකින් බැහැ. එහෙත් කරුණක් දෙකක් ගැනවත් කියන්න ඕන. එයට පළමුව ජාතික ගීය සිංහලෙන් පමණක් ගැයීම ගැන කෙටි විස්තරයක් කරන්න ඕන.

නිදහසේ ගමන් මග




අද නිදහස් දිනයක්. සැමරුවාට කමක් නැහැ. ඒත් සමරන්නේ කුමක් ද කියන එක දැන ගන්න ඕන. අද සමරන්නේ අප එංගලන්තයේ රජු අපේ ද රජු ලෙස සැලකමින් ලත් නිදහසක්. මෙය 1817 දී කැප්පෙටිපොළ විරුවා කොහුකුඹුරේ රටේ රාළ ආදීන් ඇරඹු නිදහස් සටනේ පියවරක් නො වෙයි. ඒ නිදහස් සටන් ව්‍යාපාරය ධර්මපාලතුමාගෙන් තාවකාලික ව අවසන් වුණා. ඒ නිදහස් සටන්වල අරමුණ වූයේ යළි සිංහල බෞද්ධ රාජ්‍යය ගොඩ නැගීමයි.

සුමන්තිරන් ජාතික ගීය කියන්නෙ නැත්නම් ඒකෙ ප්‍රශ්නයක් නැහැ. ජාතික ගීය සම්පූර්ණයෙන් ම දන්න සිංහලයන්ගෙ ප්‍රතිශතය කීයද කියල මා දන්නෙ නැහැ. අප ජාතික ගීයක් නිර්මාණය කර ගත්තෙ ඩොමීනියන් නිදහස ලැබුණට පස්සෙ. මේ නිදහස ගැනත් කතා දෙකක් කියන්න තියෙනවා. කවුද පඬියකු කියලා තිබුණ ඕස්ත්‍රේලියාවෙත් තියෙන්නෙ ඩොමීනියන් නිදහසක් කියලත් ඒ රටේ උදවිය සතුටින් ඉන්නව කියලත්.
ඕස්ත්‍රේලියාව කියන්නෙ ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් එංගලන්තයෙන් ගිය අය පදිංචි වුණු රටක්. ඒ අය හිරකාරයො ය කියල නිග්‍රහ කරන්න අවශ්‍ය නැහැ. හිරකාරයන්ගෙ වුණත් දරුවන් වැරදිකරුවන් නොවෙයි. එරට වැසි යම් ප්‍රමාණයකට එංගලන්තයෙ රැජන ගැන ගෞරවාදර හැඟීමක් තියෙනවා. ඔවුන් තම මවුරට ලෙස එංගලන්තය ගැන හිතනවා. ඒත් එරට වැසියන්ගෙන් සමහරුනට පූර්ණ නිදහස අවශ්‍යයි.

පාරවල කුණු අහුලන්න අපට නිදහස තියෙනවා.  ඇයි කුණු දාන්නත් නිදහස තියෙනවා.  ජනමාධ්‍ය ඒවට සහාය දෙනවා ද සංවිධානය කරනවා ද කියල අහන එක තේරුමක් නැහැ. මා කිව්වෙ කුණු දාන්න සහය දෙනවා කියලා නො වෙයි. කුණු ඇහිඳින්න උදවු වෙනවා කියලා. අපට ජනමාධ්‍යයෙන් නිදහස් වෙන්න පුළුවන් ද? අපට ඊනියා උගතුන්ගෙන් නිදහස් වෙන්න පුළුවන් ද? මා මේ ප්‍රශ්න අහන්නෙ අද නිදහස ඇතිව හරි නැතිව හරි ජාතික දිනය බවට පත් කරල තියෙන නිසා. නිිදහස් දිනය ජාතික දිනය කර ගන්න අපට නිදහස තිබුණ.

ඊනියා නිදහස් උත්සවය ඉවරයි. මුහුණු පොතේ පඬි පෝතකයන් දන්නේ නැහැ ඊනියා කියන වචනෙ තේරුම. එ වුණත් ඒ සමහර අය හැමදේකට ම ප්‍රතිචාර දක්වන්නවා. ඔවුන්ගේ හඩු බසින් කියනවා නම් කමෙන්ට් දානවා. එයින් ම තේරෙන කරුණ තමයි අපට නිදහස තව බොහෝ දුර බව.

අපට නිදහස ලැබෙන්නෙ කවදා ද?


බොහෝ ජනමාධ්‍යවේදීන්ට ජාතිකවාදීන්ට අනුව ඩීල් කාරයකු ගේම් කාරයකු දේව පිස්සකු වූ මට නිදහස ගැන කතා කිරීමට අයිතියක් ඇත් දැයි ප්‍රශ්න කිරීමට පුළුවන්. තව දින කිහිපයකින් ජාති ද්‍රෝහියකු වීමට නියම වී ඇති මා ලියන ලිපි කියවන සංඛ්‍යාව දිනෙන් දින අඩුවෙනවා. ඒත් මේ කරුණු ලියා තැබීම ජාතියට නැති වුවත් කිසිවකුට උපකාරයක් වෙන්න පුළුවන්.

නිදහස සැමරීමට කියා එඩ්වඩ් වින්ඩ්සර් සහ ඔහුගේ ඇඹේණිය ලංකාවට ඇවිල්ලා. ඔවුන්ගේ සියළු වියදම් දරන්නේ මෙරට ජනතාවයි. ඔවුන් පැමිණ ඇත්තේ රජයේ ආරාධනයෙන්. මහින්ද ඒ ආරාධනයට විරුද්ධ ද? මෛත්‍රිපාල විරුද්ධ ද? මෛත්‍රිපාල නම් බලන් ඇති අත්වැසුම් නැතිව ඊනියා රාජකීයන්ට අතට අත දෙන්න. ඒ දෙදෙනා රනිල්ගේ හා චන්ද්‍රිකාගේ කට්ටිය. මෛත්‍රිපාලගේවත් මහින්දගේවත් කට්ටිය නම් නො වෙයි. මේ බෙදීම තවම මෙරට මිනිසුන්ට අවබෝධ කරගන්න බැරි වෙලා. අනුර කුමාර නන්නත්තාර වූ ඊනියා විද්වතුන්ගේ පිහිටට එන පුද්ගලයකු පමණයි. නදීක ගුරුගේට විප්ලවය අමතක කරලා ඡන්දය දීමට හිතිලා. ඔහු මෙතෙක් කල් ඡන්දය තමන් වැනි විප්ලවවාදීන්ගේ වැඩක් ලෙස හිතුවේ නැහැ. ඔහු සුනිල් පෙරේරා සමග එකතු වෙලා. සුනිල්ගේ පත කුරුසයට විප්ලවවාදීන් දොස් කියන්නේ නැහැ. සමහර විට සුනිල් ද අනාගමික රාජ්‍යයක් පිහිටුවීමට වැඩ කරනවා ඇති. සමහර විට පල්ලියත් විප්ලවවාදී වෙලා ඇති.

Independence is a process –V

As we have said already the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations is just another weapon in the armoury of western Christian colonialism used against the countries and governments that do not follow the dictates of the western countries. If Sri Lanka had not defeated the LTTE terrorists against the wish of the western countries nothing would have happened in Geneva as far as Sri Lanka is concerned. Further had the west being successful in establishing an Eelam with Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo and Prabhakaran in Kilinochchi, and had the Sinhala people rose against the Wickremesinghe government in Colombo only to be murdered by the government forces then again Navi Pillai would have been lost in the suburbia of Geneva. In fact the west would have supported the Wickremesinghe government to massacre the Sinhala people. It is a case of maintaining puppet governments by western Christian colonialism and destabilizing those not liked by the west. Navi Pillai is after all a paid servant of the west and she has to do a job to earn her bread.

Recently I was asked by the presenter at a talk show as to how various different forces such as the dispersed Tamils, Channel four, the human rights people, the NGOs, western countries have got together against the Sri Lankan government. The answer is very simple as all these organizations have the same origin in western Christian colonialism which sponsors and finances all of them. Even the Marxist parties owe their survival to western Christian colonialism in the present epoch and one is not surprised to find the three wheeler Marxist parties in Sri Lanka forming a so called united opposition with the conservatives and liberals against the government which was able to stand up to the threats of the west. Most of these organizations belong to the cultural component of western Christian colonialism and as the cultural component is more significant in the present epoch of colonialism these organizations are given prominence. There are many gullible middle class educated people who are fooled easily by the western countries, after all the educated people have an education given by the west, who think that the innocent western governments are misled by the dispersed Tamils, and that these Tamils are in a position to influence the elections in some of the western countries. It is nothing but the truth and is a myth spread by the western countries themselves. The western intellectuals are very good at creating such stories, which sometime go by the name theories, and the gullible educated people in Sri Lanka waste no time in believing these stories. The Muslims in France and England are more influential than the dispersed Tamils as far as elections are concerned, but the governments of these countries do not go out of way to please the Muslims. On the contrary these governments would impose restrictions on the dress and cultural habits of the Muslims indicating clearly that they are not after the votes of the Muslim people. The government in England sponsors dispersed Tamils and have no objections when Tamil organizations headed by Catholic priests and others who are antagonistic to Buddhists meet in the Westminster Parliamentary buildings.

The UNP claims that the US resolution at the human rights commission is against the government but not against the people of the country. It is not clear as to what is meant by people by the UNP, but the west is certainly against the majority of the Sinhala Buddhists and the Muslims of the country. The west considers the Sinhala Buddhist culture and the Muslim culture as threats to the Judaic Christian culture and the western countries did not care for the human rights of the Bhikkus and Sinhala Buddhists who were massacred by the Tamil terrorists sponsored by the west. We do not know where Navi Pillai was when the Sinhala Buddhists were being killed by the LTTE terrorists and the channel four probably did not have cameras at that time. The west may not be against the Olcott Buddhists but they would do anything possible to destroy the Sinhala Buddhist culture.

The installments of the mega teledrama produced by Channel Four and directed by Navi Pillai and Company will not end with the video on Prabhakaran’s son. There will be others to follow in the installments to be released and we should not take these seriously. They are frauds, fakes and the Channel four has done a favour to the Sinhala Buddhists by producing the teledrama teaching them the tactics of western Christian colonialism. We should not attach any importance to bogus human rights commission in Geneva, and treat it with contempt it deserves. We should not send ministers as members of our delegation to Geneva and let the diplomats handle Navi Pillai and company. The UNP that thought of Medawachchi when the armed forces were in Kiliknochchi and proclaimed that any fool can get involved in a “war” has no right to talk of human rights of the Tamils who were used as a human shield by the LTTE. The Sri Lankan armed forces did their best to protect these innocent people and if anybody is responsible for the violation of their human rights it is the LTTE and those clergy, the politicians, and the western countries who were behind the LTTE and tried to protect the LTTE leaders. As a corollary the UNP and Ranil Wickremesinghe who signed that infamous ceasefire agreement in Vavunia with Prabhakaran while the latter was in Medawachchi, sorry Killinochchi, are also responsible for the violation of the human rights of the innocent Tamils in Pudukuduirrippu. The western Christian colonialism and its various instruments such as the NGOs which are responsible for the violation of the human rights of the human shield ironically accuse the government and the Sinhala Buddhists who did their best to protect the lives of these people.

This is the face of the present phase of western Christian colonialism and the government should not give in to western colonialism in Geneva. There should be no compromise with US and England which is spearheading the attack against Sri Lankan government and the Sinhala Buddhists, and the government should be prepared to be defeated in Geneva even with a bigger vote in favour of the US resolution than in last year. Any compromise with the US on the resolution would amount to a betrayal of the armed forces, and would make sure that the Sinhala Buddhists would alienate from the government. Geneva is neither the end nor the beginning of western Christian colonialism and there would be other “springs” such as the cricket spring and the clergy spring waiting in the wings. The Katunayake, Fisheries, Academic and Hulftsdorp springs turned out to be winters for the sponsors of the springs and a cricket spring with Compton Lecturers would turn out to be a snow storm if the government does not compromise on the US resolution. The government does not have to be ashamed of its record during the humanitarian operations, and it is the UNP and the western Christian colonialism that have to answer the Sinhala Buddhists and the Tamil human shield for the violation of their human rights. It has to be remembered that the government is not answerable to the so called international community which is only another name for the western Christian colonialism. The government is responsible only to the people in this country and as long as there is no symmetry in relationship with the other countries the government should consider these countries with nothing but contempt.

The west would think not only of other springs but also of economic sanctions against Sri Lanka which would work against the people of the country, except those who are probably fed by the western embassies. The UN charter may not permit economic sanctions but one should not expect the western Christian colonialists to honour the charter when it comes to weakening other cultures in the world. The President reminded this horrible feature of western Christian colonialism in his address to the nation on the independence day and we should be prepared for economic sanctions in the near future. We have to have our own way of life instead of following the western way blindly and we should establish trade links with non western countries. The independence is a process as western Christian colonialism is a process changing its ugly white face continuously and full independence would be won only after we become independent of the knowledge created in the Judaic Christian culture. Western Christian colonialism has not ended. It has changed its face but after more than five hundred years it has been able to oppress the non Christians including the Catholics through various means including giving limited political independence to the colonial countries. The Catholic Chinthanaya has been defeated politically, economically and culturally. The Theravada Chinthanaya that can offer a different way of life resists the Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya culturally and politically to some extent is under attack by the western Christian colonialism especially in the cultural component. India and China though called economic giants of the twenty first century are only following the western Christian colonialism economically and cannot offer a different scheme to the world.

The instruments used by western Christian colonialism have changed over the years. The western military forces are now not used except against Muslim Chinthanaya and in few African countries which are still finding their way out. Even in these countries one finds western Christian colonialism using military forces against Muslim Chinthanaya. Until recently western Christian colonialism used military forces against the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya in Sri Lanka indirectly through Tamil terrorism. However, the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya was able to defeat Tamil terrorism and hence the military forces of western Christian Chinthanaya indirectly against all the expectations of the western Christian colonialism. The Government of Sri Lanka instead of answering bogus reports by Channel Four, Navi Pillai and her band of human rights vendors, the united nations and its subsidiaries should appoint a commission to inquire into the funds, support, sponsorship etc., given to Tamil terrorists by the western countries directly and indirectly through the NGOs, the Church and UN and its subsidiaries. It is necessary that the committee represents the Sanga, Veda, Guru, Govi, Ranawiru balawegya and not the elite schools nor the central schools that were mere imitators of the elite schools. The members of the committee should be as far as possible from outside the professions of lawyers, western doctors, university lecturers, civil administrators specially in the private sector, as they are invariably products of the alien education system forced on us by the English and other western Christian colonialists.

Education, media and so called information technology are the main instruments used by western Christian colonialism to suppress the others in the twenty first century. In the western countries there is no freedom of knowledge or of media as there is no second opinion given at any time. It is always what the western Christian colonialism decides that is given to the public. The so called alternative view is only another version of the view of the western Christian Colonialism and people have no choice in this matter. In the USA creationism is allowed to be taught in schools in certain states but Darwinian evolution and creationism are nothing but twin systems that try to give an answer to the question how the world (universe) was created and then evolved. With all the recognition given to Dalai Lama by the western Christian colonialism would USA allow an evolution of the universe according to Agganna Sutta to be taught as an official version in their schools?

What is the culture spread through the facebook and other such modalities using information technology? Most of the people who use information technology are trained by the western Christian colonialism and the few “bloggers” who present an alternative culture are only an insignificant minority with no impact on the outcome. As we have already said the NGOs are the missionaries of the second half of the twentieth century and the first half of the twenty first century and in Sri Lanka one should not be surprised to find in the NGOs, Christian (they may call themselves atheists now but were born into Christian families and are not familiar with the Sinhala Buddhist culture though they pretend to have some knowledge citing Kalama Sutta etc., out of context) representation much more than their demographic representation. In Sri Lanka, the NGO s are funded by western states and private organizations for the purpose of propagating western Christian ideology against Sinhala Buddhist culture.

Their favorite hobby is Sinhala Buddhist bashing and promoting Christian culture. The recent Halal controversy is a case in point. The Halal controversy is around making even non Muslims to consume Halal products compulsorily. If all the products by a producer is Halal certified then the non Muslims are also forced to buy them whether they like it or not. I am surprised to find that the Christians, Catholics and Hindus are prepared to buy Halal products probably in the interests of national harmony. It is only the Buddhists who have come out against forcing them to consume Halal products and the usual NGO bandwagon dominated by Christian “intellectuals” are already at war with the Sinhala Buddhist “Chauvinists”. Why can’t these people consider the “human rights” of the Sinhala Buddhists, unless they do not have human rights as defined by the western intellectuals and their imitators here, and support them in their agitation against making them to consume Halal products compulsorily? The Sinhala Buddhists have no objection to the Muslims consuming Halal products or the Christians, Catholics and Hindus consuming Halal products in the name of national harmony. However, the Sinhala Buddhists would like to see the French, Australians and others in the western world allowing the Muslim ladies to wear what they want and respect their “human rights” in their countries. With funds supplied it is easy to bash the Sinhala Buddhists without realizing that the Buddhists are not interfering with the right of the Muslims to consume Halal products. It is up to the Ulamas’ organization to discuss with the producers and have about 10% of the products prepared according to Halal methodology so that the rest of the products would be marketed without the Halal certificate. The government should not get involved in issuing Halal certificates as it is not a governmental food policy. However, the government should make sure that the Buddhists are given the freedom to consume non Halal products as they wish.

The human rights are another weapon used by the western Christian colonialism to suppress the non Christians. It is only a weapon in the hands of the western Christian modernity as they have no regard for human rights of anybody. The way the blacks are treated in the prisons and the camps in USA and other western countries is well known and it is only typical western hypocrisy to talk of human rights. As we said in the previous installment, the Geneva conference on human rights is nothing but a get together of western Christian colonialists to bash the others and in this epoch of western Christian colonialism which is dominated by the cultural component, the media such as Channel four and human rights vendors who are lavishly remunerated for the services rendered to western Christian colonialism have a field day. It is unfortunate our media give wide and wild publicity to these Pillais and others when the other countries do not consider this get together as a worthy event to report on. Israel does not even attend these get togethers and we should have sent only a delegation of officials to meet Pillai and company who are after all glorified labourers of the UN who work for a salary. In essence they are coolies and why should we send a high powered delegation to meet these paid labourers? The Sri Lankan media should ignore these coolies and let them produce mega teledrama on violation of human rights of the innocent Tamils in installments for the get togethers of these paid labourers of western Christian colonialism. A prize of thousand rupees is offered by the Chinthana Parshadaya for the person who correctly forecast the theme of the next installment by channel four on human rights violation by the Sinhala Buddhists. As Chinthana Parshadaya is not financed by any outside organization it is regretted that we find it difficult to increase the prize money.

Independence is a process - III


Independence is a process since colonialism is a process that has evolved over five centuries. The colonialism that is experienced by us is not the same as what Seethawaka Rajasinghe experienced in the sixteenth century nor what Anagarika Dharmapala experienced in the latter part of the nineteenth century and in the first two decades of the twentieth century. In the twenty first century we may have partial political independence but economically and culturally we are dependent now more than in any other period. Even in the political field we have to depend on the western political structures. The three components of western Christian colonialism, which is a result of Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya, cultural, political and economical are interdependent and not mutually exclusive. Though some think that we reduce everything to culture it is not so, but during this epoch of western Christian colonialism the cultural component plays a very important role. Also the cultural component is neglected by the western intellectuals who deal with colonialism from their point of view and hence very often we have to make a special emphasis on culture.

Apart from UN and its various subsidiaries western Christian colonialism has established the IMF, the world bank, etc., to deal with our economies and the NGOs, universities and schools to propagate their ideology. The latter essentially are complementary to the missionaries of the early period of western Christian colonialism and work against the native cultures of Asia and Africa. Unfortunately neither the Buddhist culture nor the Hindu culture has been able to effectively counter the western Christian colonialism as most of the so called intellectuals could not produce anything original in their cultures challenging the knowledge created in the western Greek Judaic Christian culture. The politicians were and are as hopeless as the intellectuals and as a result India has now become one of the agents of western Christian colonialism in spite of its Hindu culture. Nehru dynasty depends so much on western Judaic Christian culture the Hindus had to come out with its own party in the form of Bharatheeya Janata Party (BJP). The name of BJP itself suggests that it is the party of the Bharat people implying that the Congress named in the western Christian culture using western political structures is not the party of the Bharat people. Perhaps Subhash Chandra Bhosh had other ideas but he was displaced by Gandhi Nehru Mountbatten combination. The BJP also does not have a theory to counteract the western Christian colonialism and seems to depend on alien knowledge created based on Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya.

In the Buddhist world the five Theravada countries were ruled later by the English, French and Americans. Sri Lanka and Myanmar came under the English, Laos and Kampuchea were ruled by the French while Thailand has become an unofficial colony of the Americans. Myanmar and Kampuchea under Pol Pot challenged western Christian colonialism but did not take into consideration the human cravings for sensual pleasure. People who have been exposed to the consumerism of western Judaic Christian culture cannot be forced to live without what they consider as essentials and the westerners had no difficulty in ousting Pol Pot in Kampuchea and make way for Suki in Myanmar. Even in Sri Lanka Mrs. Bandaranaike’s government had difficulties with Rice bar (Hal polla) and Bread queue (Pan polima) and JR Jayawardhene had no difficulty in ousting the SLFP promising eight pounds of cereals (eta ata). Any move against western Christian colonialism is resisted either “democratically” or through insurrections as Mrs. Bandaranaike had experienced in 1962. If we are to believe the “information” given in a series of articles published currently in the “Sunday Island”, even Dudley Senanayake and Kotelawala had been involved in the conspiracy of the mainly non Buddhist uniformed “gentlemen”. The series of articles if true also reveals how judges in the Privy Council could be influenced, and so much for the independence and impartiality of the judiciary we have inherited from the English. They talk of prejudice as something that has to be discarded but those who become judges are not people who do not have any acquaintances or those without political inclinations. One does not have to be a member of a political party to have political inclinations and some of the ex judges in their utterances reveal where their political affiliations were. The western intellectuals will vouch for separation of powers (duties), and independence from political convictions while in service but the uniformed “gentlemen” and ex judges have shown that they are first of all human beings and not machines working according to the “laws” of western intellectuals.

The western Christian colonialism was successful in using Tamil Hindus against Sinhala Buddhists with the creation of Tamil racism. In this connection it is mainly the cultural component of western Christian colonialism that is at work against Sinhala Buddhist culture as illustrated by the western media, NGOs, intellectuals etc., more than the political component. For example “The Independent” newspaper in England on Monday the 18th February 2013 came out with the headlines “Revealed: UK sells arms to Sri Lanka's brutal regime” and wrote an editorial on the hypocrisy of their government. The politicians may be prepared to sell arms to Sri Lanka but the cultural component of western Christian colonialism is all out to oppose it calling Sri Lankan government a brutal regime! It is the so called left of centre media such as “The Independent”, “Guardian”, BBC Channel four, human rights vendors, NGOs etc., that is hell bent on defeating the Sinhala Buddhist culture. It is interesting to find that in the present phase of western Christian colonialism the more one is so called left of centre one is more an ardent defendant of western Christian colonialism as the cultural component is dominant in this phase.

There were only three cultures and Chinthanayas that have been able to challenge somewhat successfully the western Christian colonialism and Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya in the last hundred years or so. They are the Greek Orthodox Chinthanaya, the Catholic Chinthanaya and culture, and the Muslim Chinthanaya and culture. The Greek Orthodox Chinthanaya was infiltrated by Marxism and the westerners were able to defeat it with the help of Pope who now serves not the catholic Chinthanaya but the Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya. The catholic Chinthanaya inspired by Fascism was defeated in the so called second world war. The Muslim Chinthanaya is still challenging the western Christian colonialism but unless it becomes careful it would also be defeated.

A good example in this connection is the Halal controversy. Whether the Sinhala Buddhists realize it or not what we have in Sri Lanka is a western Judaic Christian food policy, if I may call it a policy. The Sinhala Buddhist have become meat eaters Whisky Arrack or Kasippu drinkers within a space of hundred years or so. My family was vegetarian but was advised by a western doctor who was a Christian to add meat to our menu. I have now become a vegetarian through my “rebirth” but for more than few decades I was dominated by the cultural component of western Christian colonialism. It is clear that the Muslim culture and Chinthanaya is challenging the world domination of western Christian food patterns, culture and even law through their Halal certificates, dresses and Sharya Law. I am in principle not against it but they have to do it without antagonizing the Buddhists, Hindus and others in the world. I do not want to be dominated by Muslim culture instead of western Christian culture. In Sri Lanka it is not only the Buddhists who are affected by “Halal” policy. The Hindus and Christians are also affected. However the Christians and Hindus are not seen among the protestors as if they are prepared to consume Halal products. I fear that the Buddhists are being used (kade yaveema) in this regard. The Muslims in Sri Lanka should not force the non Muslims to consume only Halal products and they should device a scheme in consultation with the government to supply Halal products only to the Muslim community giving the freedom for the others to consume non Halal products. It is not something difficult and unless the Muslim and the Buddhists are careful, the western Christian colonialism would use Muslims against the Sinhala Buddhists presenting both communities as “pariahs” to the so called international community. We have an experience of Hindus being used against Sinhala Buddhists and we do not want a similar encounter again. Let us all unite to defeat western Christian colonialism.

Independence is a process -II


After the so called second world war western Christian colonialism which is a product of western Christian modernity that commenced more than five hundred years ago, had to take a different path. The westerners who have become creators of knowledge used that knowledge following Bacon who said that knowledge is power. The so called second world war saw the emergence of Stalinism in Eastern Europe and it was clear that at least in that part of the world there was an attempt to go back to the Catholic Chinthanaya after the defeat of Fascism in western Europe, which was also based on Catholic Chinthanaya. Catholic Chinthanaya that had been defeated by Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya had attempted to establish its hegemony again either through Fascism or Marxist Socialism.

In Asia and Africa independence struggles were helped by the emergence of Soviet satellites in Eastern Europe and very soon countries in Asia had to be given a limited independence. However, by this time the western colonialists, especially the English had created a sect who could be called McCauley’s children and they were English in everything except in the colour of the skin. A middle class that depended on western economy, political structures and culture especially in Education had arisen and it was not difficult for the western colonialists to maintain their hegemony through the dependence of McCauley’s children on the west. The elite schools in Asia had been modeled on so called public schools in England and Wales and other such schools in the continental Europe and the young men and occasionally young women went to English and French universities for higher studies. There were of course some others who were trained as western lawyers especially in England and France and whether they were influenced by Liberalism or Marxism these educated youth were fodder for the colonial masters. The west depended on these educated youth to maintain their hegemony even after a limited political independence was given to their respective countries.

Western Christian colonialists needed other institutions to complement the educational system in Asia and Africa in order to maintain their hegemony. The united nations and its various subsidiaries were the most important in this connections. These organizations helped the westerners to balance the influence of Soviet Russia and its satellites in Eastern Europe. Then the so called commonwealth that had been confined to the white nations that were in essence colonies of the English was extended to countries in Asia in the forties and in Africa in the sixties. The world bank, IMF and other such institutions only increased the grip of the western Christian countries on the others and western Christian colonialism had continued to evolve despite a limited political independence given to Asia and Africa.

However, there were two other important developments that had taken place in western Christian colonialism after the so called second world war. I insist on referring to it as the so called second world war as it was not a war in which the whole world was involved. Countries in Asia and Africa other than Japan were dragged into the war by the colonial masters and we had no choice in this matter. It was a war essentially between western Christian modernity based in Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya and Fascism based in Catholic Chinthanaya with Soviet Russia and Japan becoming allies of the warring factions. After the war America became the leader of the western countries displacing England, and Soviet Russia became the leader essentially of the countries of the Greek Orthodox Church. America is not as tactful as England and even with the western educational system spread over all the countries they found it difficult to obtain the support of the Asian and African countries.

It was in this background that the Non Governmental Organizations (NGO) were established soon after the African countries got their limited political independence. These organization though called non governmental were and financed directly or indirectly by the western Christian colonial countries. Later international non governmental organizations (INGO) were established as extensions of the NGOs. The NGOs were nothing but instruments of western Christian colonialism and though some of them were involved ostensibly with welfare work in the villages in Asia and Africa they were essentially successors to the missionary workers of the early western Christian colonial phase. However, the west has learnt its lessons and it is not difficult find non Christians in Asia and Africa working for the NGOs. The NGOs essentially propagates the ideology of the western Christian modernity and they could be found in every corner of Asia western taking Christian modernity to the future generations in Asia and Africa.

All these institutions, the UNO and its subsidiaries, the Commonwealth, IMF, World Bank, the schools and the universities, the NGOs are only instruments of western Christian colonialism and through education which is the prerogative of the western intellectuals we in Asia and Africa have been brainwashed to consider them as institutions that do a great favour to us, when opposite is the cased. The middle class in Sri Lanka that consists mainly of McCauley’s children are now worried whether we would be able to hold the meeting of the commonwealth heads in Sri Lanka, and if we go b y the opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe who acts as if he is the opposition leader in England (UK if one wishes that way) whether we would be expelled from the commonwealth. Has anybody done a study on who benefits from the commonwealth? The commonwealth offers a few scholarships and fellowships to Sri Lankans and it would be nice to see some of these scholars and fellows undertaking a study on the costs and benefits of being a member of the commonwealth. We should be able to tell the commonwealth to fly a kite and expel us from the commonwealth if they wish to. It is very unlikely that Sri Lanka would be expelled from the commonwealth for not following the Latimore House Principles as in that case England would have to expelled first. On the other hand even if Sri Lanka is expelled from the commonwealth we should not be disturbed as it is one of the instruments of western Christian colonialism. The McCauley’s children would be deeply upset by such a move but then Sri Lanka should not take these brainwashed people and their ideas seriously. The de brainwashing of the McCauley’s children is an essential step in our continuing independence struggle.

The President had referred to the charter of the United Nations in his address to the nation on the independence day and reminded the western envoys that neither united nations nor any member nation of the UN should interfere with the internal matters of any other member. What the President has forgotten is that the UN Charter is there only in theory as UNO is one of the most important instruments as far as western Christian colonialism is concerned. The semblance of impartiality this organization had vanished after the collapse of the Berlin wall and the UNO is only interested in maintaining the hegemony of the western Christian modernity. The so called freedom of speech, good governance, human rights etc., are only again instruments used by western Christian colonialism to tie down our hands thus depriving independence. As the west has a monopoly of knowledge their intellectuals come out with various concepts and theories essentially to rule the world the way they want. The concept of right to protect was one such bogus concepts.

Independence is a process


Independence is a word that depends on dependence. There were no independent or dependent states before western colonialism which is a product of western Christian modernity that commenced more than five hundred years ago. My concepts do not depend on the western concepts and I see the world, in other words construct the world relative to Sinhala Buddhist culture, however I try to be consistent as far as possible not necessarily in Aristotelian logic with its dichotomies but in fourfold or Catuskoti Logic that is found in this part of the world. It has to be mentioned that Catuskoti is not Buddhist logic and that Nibbana is outside even Catuskoti Logic. As it is western Christian modernity commenced with what is called Renaissance by the western intellectuals and we associate modernity with the emergence of Greek Judaic Christian Chinthanaya that displaced the Catholic Chinthanaya of Medieval Europe. Western Christian modernity is in its last phase now but we must understand that it is also a process that will take some time to terminate, and also that it has gone through with so called enlightenment, emergence of science, rationalism, industrial revolution, capitalism, bourgeois revolution, French revolution, American revolution etc., not necessarily in a chronological order, being integral parts of the process. We now talk of independence and celebrate it since we had been dependent as the whole country from 1815, and in two years time we would be lamenting two hundred years of dependence. Of course I am borrowing the word lamenting from a different culture only to emphasize dependence of certain people and sects that are not in harmony with the culture of the country. As a Sinhala Buddhist I would say with my limited knowledge of English that in two years we would be remembering with ‘sanvega’ how our ancestors were fooled by a Cambridge educated “civil servant” by the name Doyle.

The President in his address to the nation on Monday mentioned four important facts, after mentioning that Trincomalee is Gokanna Titta and its historical importance going back to at least Tapasu Bhalluka. The President like JR Jayawardane before him has a sense of history the difference being that the latter’s history being the history as told by the western historians and imparted to him through his western Christian education. If somebody were to say that Mahinda Rajapakse is not educated then I am happy for him as I myself know how difficult is it to “uneducate” oneself having obtained even a limited western education. The President, according to “The Island” of 5th February 2013, said among other things the following:

(a) “Along with gaining independence in 1948 we were able to be seated as an equal member of the United Nations Organization. Article 2 of the United Nations Charter states that the organization is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members.

I shall now quote it,
1. The Organization is based on the Principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members.

2. All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.

3. Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state or shall require the Members to submit such matters to settlement under the present Charter.

We are a country that has always respected the Charter of the United Nations. We strongly hold the position that whether powerful or weak, any country in the United Nations Organization should respect its Charter.”

(b) “It is necessary to state on this occasion that as much as racism, religious differences too can be a cause for the destruction of a country. If anyone is trying to build religious rivalry in Sri Lanka again, they do not serve their religion, but serve the interests of separatism in the country. We cannot leave room for what could not be achieved through terrorism to be gained by this.”

(c) “If freedom is a heavenly state, it is not a state one can fully achieve.”

(d) “It is necessary that I place before the world a reference in Buddhist teaching about the value of freedom. In preaching to a young Brahmana named Ambatta, the Buddha related the example of Gomariththa to show the importance of being able to live freely even under the most trying conditions.

The bird refer to Kata Kirilli, commonly known in villages as Gomariththa (common wagtail) is found in paddy fields that builds its nets under the mud raised by ploughing the filed. The Kata Kirilli too should have the freedom to live within its nest the way it wishes. The Sri Lankan people are also entitled to this freedom. Therefore the people of my country should have the right to live freely.”

(a), (b) and (d) are mainly meant for the western envoys who were present at the celebrations as well as those who read it in the media and other important personalities who are briefed by the others. I shall come to these three aspects but would delve into the third on which the other three are based. I have a different interpretation to ( c) and I consider independence as a process and not as something that cannot be achieved in full. If it cannot be achieved in full it is because the goal posts are removed from where they were previously and we have to start almost from the beginning.

Independence is a process simply because dependence is also a process. The western intellectuals have come out concepts such as neo colonialism simply because colonialism or dependence changes all the time and is not a static phenomenon. To a Buddhist no phenomenon is static, in fact one would say there are no phenomena as such independent of the observer, and dependence is always changing not only its ugly face but its cruel heart as well. However it does not mean that either the face becomes beautiful or the heart becomes kind. Also it does not mean that the process will continue eternally but it will come to a finish though it would take a longer time than we expect.

Sri Lanka has to continue to struggle as long as the process of dependence exists and it is clear that the western Christian modernity will not allow us even a breathing space. It is reported in a newspaper that the National Anthem had been sung in Sinhala and Tamil at some places of religious worship and this could be considered as something that the President has referred to in (b). Being places of religion worship they should have been non provocative and stuck to the constitution with its schedules. The schedules specify how the national flag should be hoisted and how the national anthem should be sung. Public places under the patronage of clergy cannot be allowed to violate the constitution, but if the government takes any action it would be interpreted as Sinhala Buddhist Chauvinism, intolerance, lack of freedom of expression, by western Christian modernity, and the government will realize that the independence process is not going to end soon.
